Dedicated to Modified Ford Courier Pickups
Stories and Ideas
This is the place to share you ideas and concepts. It is also a place to reminence on your experiances past with the Ford Courier, whether it was modified or not. So if you have a story about traveling the country in a Courier or some far fetched tale about how a Courier saved your life, we want to hear it. Even if it was just sitting in grampas broken truck making put-put noises, bring it on.
'Tosinsparks' submitted this concept for a truck he has planned. It is very similar to mine but definately more old skool in design. This will be a very nice truck when done.

Kelly writes,
I would like to submit some courier info to your site.  I was beginning to feel like my father and I were the only nuts in the world willing to modify a courier, your web site was a welcome site.  here is my info

1979 Ford Courier
351 windsor ( from my dads late model race car that has not seen track time in a while, the courier just seemed a better home for it)
5 speed trans
bed shortened 18 inches
hood and front fenders lengthened 18 inches
Cab moved back 18 inches
motor nearly touches the cab in the present position (needless to say there is lots of room for the radiator)
we used electric fans so that we could lower the motor down in the frame as much as possible, the bell housing only sits 4 inches from the ground, we have to be carefull where we drive it.
home built headers and pipes ( we came to this decision because aftermarket headers will not fit between the frame and motor, of course neither would the oil filter, so a remote oil filter was added to the list, the header pipes were made to extend out past the frame and then along the frame)
we used a summit alumnium radiator and built a shroud
the hood and fender extensions were a little tricky to build and match the curves of the factory metal
everything else is stock so far and we plan on changing the rear end to a nine inch
we painted it sunshine yellow, hence the name (Yellow Devil) at least thats what my mother calls it,  The best part of it all is the last money talley only came to 3,500.  The next best thing is the looks we get driving around town, most people have no idea what it is, and most of them think it looks like a cartoon truck,  I apologize, I do not have pictures to send right now, but I will do my best to get some to you right away, we both appreciate you putting a site up such as this one, thanks and you have my permission to use any of this information as you see fit.
